Stop Morrison's Cuts to Affordable Housing

The Morrison Government is walking away from the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS), which will leave more than 10,000 Queensland tenants paying more rent or having to find alternative affordable housing.

By mid-2025 there will be no affordable housing under NRAS. This is a significant reduction from 10,232 properties (at its peak) to none.

The Federal Government's Housing package also provides no new funding for social housing and no support for rental affordability.

Queensland is playing its part with a $2.9 billion investment to build more social and affordable homes, which is the largest investment in social housing since World War 2.

The Palaszczuk Government is doing the heavy lifting while the Morrison Government has turned its back on Queenslanders experiencing rental and housing stress.
