Gaven is full of people who quietly get on with making our community better, no fuss no fanfare, just showing up week after week because they care. It's one of the things I love most about representing such a caring community. Whether it's the parents who give their time to P&Cs or sports clubs, the educators who go above and beyond, the young people already giving back, or the seniors who've spent a lifetime doing so, I want to recognise you.

I created these awards to say thank you to the people who give back to the Gaven community.

If you know someone who lives in our electorate and deserves recognition, I'd love to hear about them. We're recognising the following Community Members:

Young Person of the Year (Under 25) — the young person who always puts their hand up to help their community

Senior Volunteer of the Year (60+) — a senior whose dedication keeps inspiring the people around them

Volunteer of the Year (All Ages) - some who gives their time and energy without being asked twice

Community Club Volunteer of the Year — from sports clubs, scouts, guides, charities and community groups

Community Club of the Year - a club that's earned recognition for what it gives back

School Community Award (including P&C volunteers) — the teachers, teacher aides and P&C volunteers who make a big difference to the lives of our students

Community Advocate of the Year — Someone raising their voice on the issues that matter
